Energy data specialist IMSERV is strengthening its ability to help customers optimise building performance and accelerate decarbonisation following the acquisition of proptech company arbnco.
The acquisition marks IMSERV’s third in 18 months, reflecting the company’s continued investment in building a connected platform that transforms energy data into practical insight for customers.
Once integrated, arbnco’s smart building software will enable customers to turn trusted energy data into actionable decarbonisation plans and investment decisions.
It will enable organisations to understand how buildings are performing by combining building characteristics, actual energy consumption and external factors such as weather data. Customers can benchmark performance across portfolios, identify where energy is being wasted and prioritise the actions that will deliver the greatest operational, financial and carbon savings.
Combined with IMSERV’s trusted metering and unmetering energy data services, customers will benefit from deeper insight into how their buildings and assets are functioning. The enhanced offering will support organisations to manage Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) requirements and model future retrofit scenarios as they take further steps towards achieving net zero.
Jo Cox, CEO of IMSERV, said: “Businesses are under growing pressure to reduce carbon emissions, improve building performance and meet increasingly complex reporting and compliance requirements.
“By bringing arbnco into IMSERV, we are creating a truly end-to-end energy intelligence platform that combines high-quality data with advanced analytics and practical insight. Together, we will be able to help customers better understand where changes can be made to optimise energy use and prioritise investment.
“arbnco is the latest deliberate step in a clear direction of travel. IMSERV bought global energy company Astral Tech to unify energy and customer data, SP Dataserve deepened IMSERV’s data reach and arbnco now adds the intelligence that turns that data into decisions.
“Piece by piece, IMSERV is building something the market has not had before: one trusted place to go from the meter to meaningful action on cost, carbon and compliance. This acquisition is not our final destination, but a signal of where IMSERV is headed.”
IMSERV will work closely with customers throughout the integration of the software platform and looks forward to welcoming the arbnco team into the business.
